May Good Things Grow Card

Supplies:

Stamps: Dragonfly Garden
Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Tuxedo Black Memento
Stampin’ Blends: Dark Smoky Slate
Stampin’ Write Markers: Bumblebee, Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock:  Mossy Meadow – one piece cut to 8 ½” x 11” and scored at 4 ¼”
Basic White – two pieces; one cut to 4: x 5 ¼” and one cut to 2 ¼” x 4”
Designer Series Paper (DSP):  Dandy Garden – four pieces; one piece cut to 2 ¾” x 4”, one piece cut to ¾” x 4 ¾”, one piece cut to ½” x 5 ¼” and one piece cut to 3 ½” x 3 ½” (SEE PHOTO FOR PATTERNS USED)
Accessories:  Adhesive of choice, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Dragonflies Punch, Layering Circles Dies

Directions:

Fold the 8 ½” x 11” piece of cardstock at the 4 ¼” score line and place on your stamping surface with the fold at the top (landscape orientation).  Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the large floral image from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set onto the left edge of the card front.  Ink the stamp again and stamp it on the left side of the 4’ x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock (the 5 ¼” side will be at the top). Adhere the ½” x 45 ¼” piece of DSP to the stamped Basic White cardstock and adhere this piece to the inside of the card.  Adhere the 2 ¾” x 4” piece of DSP to the center of the card front.  Use the largest circle die (3”) from the Layering Circles dies to cut a circle from the 3 ½” x 3 ½” piece of DSP.  Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the “May Good Things….” Sentiment onto the top right of the DSP circle.  Adhere the circle to the card front centered over the 2 ¾” x 4” piece of DSP.  Adhere the ¾” x 4 ¾” piece of DSP onto the card front placing it over the bottom of the circle piece and about ¼” from the bottom of the rectangular piece.  Use Memento ink to stamp the dragonfly image onto the 2 ¼” x 4” piece of Basic White.  Tap (“Thunk”) the Bumblebee and Rich Razzleberry markers onto the half wing stamp.  Breathe (or huff) onto the stamp to remoisten then ink and then stamp onto the right wing of the dragonfly image.  Clean the stamp and then repeat for the left wing of the dragonfly image.  Punch out the dragonfly image using the Dragonflies Punch.  If more color is desired on the wings, fill in with the Bumblebee marker.  Use the Dark Smoky Slate Blends to color the body of the dragonfly.  Use adhesive to attach just the body of the dragonfly to the card front (see photo for placement).  If you have used glue to attach the dragonfly, wait just a moment for it to set then place a Stampin’ Dimensional under each wing to give the illusion of flight.  This card makes a wonderful Birthday card!

Acts of Kindness Card

Supplies:

Stamps: Garden Wishes
Ink:  Bumblebee, Mossy Meadow, Tuxedo Black Memento
Stampin’ Blends: Light Mossy Meadow
Cardstock:  Basic White – three pieces; one piece cut to 3 ¼:” x 4 ¾””, one piece cut to 1” x 4” and one piece cut to 2 ¾” x 5”
Designer Series Paper (DSP):  Dandy Laser Cut Specialty
Accessories:  Adhesive of choice, Painter’s tape, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Blending Brush, Dandy Wishes dies,  Pick-a-Banner punch, Dandy Garden Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, sponge dauber, piece of cardboard at least 5” x 7”

Directions:

Use a small amount of adhesive (not glue) to attach the 3 ¼” x 4 ¾” piece of Basic White to the piece of cardstock.  Place the “Leaf” image from the Dandy Laser Cut Specialty DSP directly on top of this piece.  Use painter’s tape around the edges of the DSP, placing it over the “frame” of the DSP (HINT:  press the pieces of painters tape to jeans or some other material surface to remove a little of the stickiness and avoid it tearing the DSP piece when removed).  Ink a blending brush with Mossy Meadow ink and apply the ink to the DSP piece.  To avoid any brush marks, start the blending on the cardboard and then move onto the DSP piece.  Continue to apply ink until you reach the depth of color desired.  (I chose to keep mine lighter so it wouldn’t overshadow the focal image).  Carefully remove the painter’s tape from the edges of the DSP.  The bottom piece of Basic White will now be stenciled with the image from the DSP.  Set this piece aside for a second card.  Adhere the DSP piece to the front of a Memories & More Card.  Use Memento ink to stamp the large dandelion image onto the 2 ¾” x 5” piece of Basic White.  Cut the image out using the corresponding die from the Dandy Wishes dies.  Ink the “filler” stamp for the dandelion with Bumblebee ink and stamp onto the largest of the dandelion flowers.  Use a sponge dauber and Bumblebee ink to color the two smaller flowers.  Color in the leaves and stems using the Light Mossy Meadow Blends.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere this image to the card front, centering it on the DSP panel.  Use Mossy Meadow to samp the “Acts of Kindness” sentiment onto the 1” x 4” piece of Basic White.  Punch each end of this piece with the Pick-a-Banner punch.  Apply adhesive only to the ends of this piece and then place it onto the cardfront over the bottom of the dandelion image (see photo for placement.  Send to someone who has brightened your day with kindness!

Accessories:  Adhesive of choice, Mini Glue Dots, Foam Adhesive Sheets, Floral Gallery dies, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine (SCEM)

 Directions:

Before cutting the DSP or Golden Garden Acetate, be sure you have selected matching pattern so that the gold images in the acetate outline the images of the DSP.  Align the acetate over the DSP and secure with Mini Glue dots placing them in areas that have larger colored areas so they won’t be so obvious.  Do not put a glue dot in the top left corner yet.  Adhere this to the card base.  Apply a Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of the 3” x 4” piece of Pool Party cardstock and then cut out the “Just Want to Say” die from the Floral Gallery dies.  Remove the backing from the die cuts and attach in the upper left corner of the of the card front.  Once the sentiment is in place, put additional Mini Glue dots between the acetate and DSP under where the sentiment is in order to secure the top left corner to the card front.  Stamp the “I’m Thinking of You” sentiment (or any of the others if desired) and use the large scalloped rectangle from the Floral Gallery dies to cut it out.  Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere it to the lower right portion of the card front.  Adhere the ¾” x 4” piece of DSP to the 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and then adhere to the inside of the card.
