Saturday Sketch Challenge 5/28

Thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts for my sister.  She had her surgery yesterday and had NO lymph node involvement so we are hoping she will not have to undergo Chemo treatments.

I loved this week's sketch!  It was very easy to work with.  You can see what all the other Designers for our weekly challenge have done over at the UDI Blog or just follow the link at the bottom of my post to "skip" on to the next designer.

This is the weekend when we take time to remember all the soldiers who protect our freedom.  So I wanted to say THANK YOU to all enlisted people and their loved ones!!!

I sponged our Love Notes Designer paper with More Mustard.  Isn't it cool how you can change the look of a designer paper just by adding a little color????

MDS Monday 5/24

It's Monday and time for another MDS (My Digital Studio) project!  These are sooooo much fun!  You can see what all of the Design Team has done over at the Utah Divas International Blog.  Our challenge this week was to have a Queen card in honor of Queen Victoria.  Here's mine:

 If you own a cat, you know that they are Queens every day LOL!!!!

Saturday Sketch Challenge 5/21

I'm using the Hope and Strength Set for my Saturday Sketch Challenge this week. This set is dedicated to Breast Cancer Research and for every one of these sets sold, Stampin' Up! donates $2 to a Breast Cancer Foundation.  This set is in the current Mini Catalog.   You can see what the other Designers have done at the UDI Blog or just follow the link at the end of this post to skip to the next Designer's blog.

I'm using this set because it has special meaning this week.  Unfortunately, my sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this past Wednesday and will be having surgery next week.  She has been diligent about having her yearly exams so they have caught it early and she has a great prognosis but it's still the "C" word and it's still very scary.  I hope you will keep her in your prayers this coming week!

Sick, sick, sick

I have a summer cold that has turned bad on me so no post this Saturday.  I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day.  Remember, you don't have to have a child to give a Mother's love -- any time you make a difference in any child's life, you are giving them the love of a Mother.  As Kathie Hill says:

"It may be an Auntie, a Sister or a Granny to be the one to give a Mother's love,
but no matter who may give it, a Mother's love's a gift
that comes down from the Father up above"

MDS Monday 5/2

This week's My Digital Studio challenge for Utah Divas International was to create a card using a cupcake.  This was sooooooo easy!  Did you know that My Digital Studio has some cards already made for you?  That's right, all you have to do is add your sentiment and send it on it's way to the printer!!!!  AND you can personalize the inside front of the card as well as the side where the sentiment goes!  For my card today, I used one of the pre-designed Birthday Cards and just added the cupcake, how easy is that?  You can see what the rest of the Designers did HERE.
