UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge 2/25

Whew!  Am I glad this week is over.  My sister and I have been at the hospital all week with Mother.  We had to send her by ambulance last Sunday night with chest pains.  After ruling out her heart, they did more tests and finally, today, they found the problem.  Now that they have found it, they can start the right medicine and she'll be back on her feet.  Thank you for all of you who have sent prayers and good wishes!!!!!

So on to today's sketch!  For such a simple looking sketch, this was one of the harder ones for me.  How long should my rectangles be?  Should I use a circle as in the sketch or should I use a square?  Should I use one of the new Framelits?  So much to choose from.  But then, sitting in plain view in my Designer Series Paper rack was Petals and Paisleys looking neglected, soooooo........  I had to use it.  Here's the sketch:

DIVASC177 - Feb 25
and here's my card:

Cardstock:  Marina Mist, Whisper White, Petals and Paisleys Designer Series paper
Accessories:  Frost White Shimmer Paint, Stampin' Sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

I didn't want just the flat white cardstock on this so I took a Stampin' Sponge and dabbed in in some of the Shimmer Paint and then scrubbed it on in a circular motion.  I applied it to the Designer Series Paper as well to give the whole thing a shimmery look!

I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

  1. I'm so glad your mom is on the mend, Ruthie!

    Your card is fabulous!

  2. Good idea to use the DSP and let it shine! So glad to hear the medical staff is on target now and can help your mother. (hugs)

  3. This is beautiful, Ruthie! I forgot just how much I love this paper. You've inspired me to pull it out again!

I'm so glad to hear that the doctors have figured things out. I hope your mom can come home soon.

Thank you for leaving comments, they are greatly appreciated!
