Saturday Sketch Challenge 8/22

It's time for another sketch challenge over at UDI! Our fearless Challenge Leader, Carol, has thrown in a couple of extras with our challenges. For today, we not only have the sketch but we are to incorporate the Shaving Cream technique into our design. What fun!!!!!

So here it is! The lighting drove me crazy (both of the buttons are really the same color!) but it's 11:30 pm so I had no natural light. What's a girl to do?

Stamp set: Flowers in Silhouette (on the Dormant list)

Inks: Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun and Ruby Red reinkers, Black Staz-on

Cardstock: Ruby Red, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Glossy White

Accessories: Corduroy buttons, clear buttons, 1" circle punch, mini glue dots

Today, we are having a reception for my Mom. She turned 80 on Wednesday! We are so lucky to still have her in our lives and even though she has a lot of health issues, you'd never know it to look at her! Most of our family is right here in Fort Worth, but my sister's middle son lives in Milwaukee, WI and Mother has not seen him in about three years. My sister is flying him in as a special surprise!!! I know it will make her day.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Another beautifully elegant card! I like how the flowers look like a silhouette against the shaving cream background. The colors you used in this technique are quite stunning. Great job!
