Diva Sketch Challenge 4/25

It's time for a Sketch Challenge again!!!! You can see the sketch here at the UDI Blog:

Stamp Set: Flight of the Butterfly

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Whisper White

Inks: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: 1/2" and 1" punches

This is a 6x3 card.

We had soooo much fun this week. Mother is doing so much better. We went the to King Tut exhibit in Dallas. It was such a wonderful exhibit. It is so awesome to think that we are looking at things that we made thousands of years ago. Makes me wonder, what will people marvel at that WE are leaving behind?

I love spring!!!!! The weather here has been crazy. This morning it was a little chilly but by lunch it had warmed to the 70s but by supper it had dropped to 42. We have had thunderstorms off and on all week and tomorrow we may have snow!!!! (Won't stick of course or cause any ice but it will be beautiful if it happens). Hope you are all feeling the renewal that comes with spring!!!!

Sketch Challenge Saturday 3/7

I got up early this morning and had such fun creating this card for the Sketch Challenge over at the Utah Divas blog. For today's card I used Pinch Proof. St. Patrick's Day is coming up and also I have been feeling lucky lately! There has been so much illness at my house that we have been just shut down. After my post last week about not having an alternate place for my Technique Class, several of you stepped forward and offered your homes. I am so grateful to you and to everyone who has offered support in other ways. Thank you! We are finally on the track back to health.

Don't forget to check out the specials listed in my last entry (just scroll down to see it)!

Also, with these tough economic times Stampin' Up! wants to make sure that if you want an additional income through Cardmaking and Scrapbooking, it is attainable. Watch for an announcement about a PAYMENT PLAN for the Starter Kit coming soon!!!!!!! This is the best job ever and you can make it whatever you need it to be. If you just have a couple of friends that you stamp and crop with and want to be a Hobbyist you can do that OR you can build it into a full fledged career. I would love to have you on my team!

Sooooo, here's my card for this week's Sketch Challenge:

And here's how I made it!

SET: Pinch Proof

Cardstock: Glorious Green, Basic Black, Whisper White

Inks: Glorious Green Ink Pad and Marker, Basic Black, Really Rust, More Mustard and Blush Blossom Markers

Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sale-A-Bration and Occassions Mini Preorder

First of all, I need to apologize for not posting in a while. February was a TERRIBLE month at our house. My sister had knee replacements in BOTH knees and Mother was in the hospital for 11 days. Mother is now home but we are afraid she has a contagions infection called MRSA so no stamp camps until we are sure. I tried to find another venue for this Friday's Technique class but everything was either too expensive or the restaurants I chose could not guarantee they wouldn't sit people right next to us. So I want to be sure you don't miss out on anything and am listing the latest specials. Remember, you can call, snail mail or email me an order OR you can order ONLINE through my website (http://www.stampinwithruthieb.stampinup.net/) !

Here are the specials! The first is Sale-A-Bration. Every year Stampin' Up! has this event. We have a Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalog (see my sidebar for a link to the brochure itself) and everything in it is free!!!!! For each $50 in merchandise you buy from the regular catalog or the Occasions Mini Preorder (see Below) you can choose 1 free item!!!! That's for EACH $50 so if you spend $100 you get TWO free gifts and if you have a workshop of $350 or more, you get another FREE set in addition to all your wonderful Hostess benefits!!!!! Sale-A-Bration lasts until March 31st.

The second special is a special pre-order from our upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog. Items in this catalog will be available April 1st but there are some Easter sets that Stampin' Up! wanted you to have plenty of time to use. These are shown below and are available for order NOW!

Here are the pictures of what's available:

I am sure that by the 3rd Friday Mother will be fine for us to have Stamp Camp and am looking forward to seeing you all then!!!

Remember too that you can order ONLINE at http://www.stampinwithruthieb.stampinup.net/ , just click on the "Shop Now" button at the top right under my name and remember that you can always call, email or snail mail and order as well.

Thank you!!!

My First Blog Award!!!!!

How exciting! Thank you so much to Erika over at Ink Cut & Fold for giving my first ever blog award!

Isn't this exciting? So here's the rules to follow for this:

So the rules for this award:

1) Post the award’s logo on your blog

2) Add the link to the person who nominated you

3) Nominate at least 6 others and no more than 10 blogs & post their links.

These blogs are where I get most of my inspiration:

Utah Divas International - This is a demo group that I am proud to be a member of!

Andrea Walford at Sunny Stampin'- Andrea has the most awesome projects and provides a planning service for demos that is well worth the money!!!!

Becky Roberts at Inking Idaho - She has wonderful ideas and fantastic tutorials!

Gretchen Barron at Inspiration in Action who truly is inspiring! She also is one of the founders of a group of demonstrators (Sudden Response) who respond to help other demonstrators who have lost their stamping supplies due to disasters such as fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. The donations she and her group get together help these demos to remain in business when all seemed lost!

Selene Kempton at Stampin Fun with Selene - Selene is another founder of Sudden Response and is a mover and shaker in the Stampin' Up! World. She has been awarded several honors and I was really blessed to get to spend some time with her at the "Diva House" during Convention this year.

Mary Fish at Stampin' Pretty - Even though she doesn't know me, she is an inspiration with her wonderful projects. When I was setting up my blog, she answered questions for me.

and last, but not, least my Stampin' Sister

Carol Marbach at Stuff by Carol. Carol has really great stuff on her blog! I met her at the "Diva House" at Convention this year and we have so much in common that we decided we were twins separated at birth (and a few years too! LOL!) I being the older and wiser twin of course!!!!

4) Let those people know that they have received the award.

You thought that was it didn’t you?

There’s more. … Now for something completely different: This is a little different challenge requirement - to post the 6th photo found in your 6th folder in “My Pictures” and tell the story behind the photo.

So here is mine!

This is our crazy cat, Kiki. She loves to sleep upside down! Silly baby!

Thank you all for reading and than you, Erika, for my award!!!!!
